Afternoon Update:

Lingering showers will continue through this afternoon with temperatures steadily falling into the evening hours.  With the moisture in place and the temperature eventually dipping sub-freezing, snow showers & ice will be our primary concern during the overnight hours into tomorrow morning.

Meteorologist Mark Stitz will be in covering this developing winter weather scenario tonight at 5pm, 6pm & 11pm.

____________________________________________________________________________

Showers and storms earlier this morning will give way to light to moderate residual showers by this afternoon.  Many trees and power lines were blown down after this morning's storms, so please take it easy and be cautious on the roadways.

This afternoon, expect temperatures to take a nose dive from where they were this morning (...near 70° at 6am).  By 5pm, I'm calling for temps only in the low 50s under mostly cloudy skies.  Overnight tonight will be a rude awakening with temps falling well below freezing to 25 degrees.  Any standing water on the roadways and sidewalks may freeze overnight.  Flurries are in the forecast tonight and into early tomorrow morning.

Join us today at Noon on ABC 36 for a complete recap of this morning's storms.
