Friday afternoon (8.17.12) – Weather Update

We’re still tracking a thick layer of cloud cover overhead with isolated showers in our eastern counties – heads up in Rowan and Bath counties.  The cloud cover could act to further suppress our daytime high temperatures.  Though our initial forecast is calling for upper 70s this afternoon, with the clouds, mid 70s for highs may be the name of the game through midday.

Your forecast for this weekend still looks great!

Make it a great weekend!

You’ve made it to your weekend…well almost! We’re tracking a few isolated showers this morning with temps by lunchtime in the low to mid 70s.  Clouds will stick around overhead before thinning into the evening hours tonight.  Along with the clouds, a few of us in the Blue Grass may see an isolated shower or storm through the afternoon.  Our best chance for a shower or storm will be in our southeastern counties.  That happens to be where our cold front is…which will be the culprit for cooling our temps today and into the weekend.  Heading out on the town tonight, I’m calling for dissipating clouds as the clouds and moisture continues its track towards the southeast.

Saturday will be filled with sunshine!  That sun will help warm temps into the mid to upper 70s tomorrow and Sunday!

Summer isn’t quite over just yet…check out your 7-day forecast to see to see the warmer week ahead.
