Frigid Temperatures For Christmas Week

Midnight Update:  Temperatures have not fallen as quickly, due to more cloud cover building in across the region, as a weather disturbance approaches from the west.  There will be a chance for some flurries overnight, with Christmas Eve morning low temperatures in the upper teens.  Highs on Christmas Eve will only reach 26 degrees, with mostly sunny skies through the afternoon.  Christmas Eve Night will be mostly clear and cold with overnight low temperatures around 16 by daybreak Christmas morning.  Christmas Day will feature mostly to partly sunny skies with high temperatures around 37 degrees.

A few flurries will be possible overnight, yet we are looking at mostly sunny skies for your Christmas Eve afternoon. We will have frigid temperatures through your Christmas week, with drier conditions.

TONIGHT: A weak weather disturbance will move through the region overnight, bringing the chance for some flurries early Tuesday morning. Overnight low temperatures will fall to around 18 degrees, so remember to protect people, pets, and pipes.

CHRISTMAS EVE TUESDAY: After a few clouds in the morning, we will have mostly sunny skies through the afternoon, with a high of only 26 degrees. If you’re heading out to any Christmas Eve services, bundle up as temperatures will be around 20 degrees at 8pm and in the upper teens around 11pm.

CHRISTMAS NIGHT: Santa will have quiet weather to deliver presents, as skies will be mostly clear. However, temperatures will feel more like the North Pole, with overnight low temperatures around 16 degrees.

CHRISTMAS DAY WEDNESDAY: We look to have mostly sunny to partly sunny skies throughout your Christmas Day, with high temperatures around 37 degrees.

THURSDAY & FRIDAY: Skies will stay mostly sunny for Thursday and Friday, with highs around 36 degrees Thursday, and 39 degrees Friday.

WEEKEND: Temperatures will be back into the 40s this weekend, with a high of 43 degrees Saturday, and 45 degrees on Sunday. Saturday will feature mostly sunny skies, with increasing clouds throughout the day Sunday. There is a chance for a few Sunday evening rain showers, with a transition to some snow Sunday night into Monday. Temperatures drop back into the 30s for highs early next week.
