Midnight Update:
With clear skies and light winds due to high pressure over Kentucky, temperatures have fallen quickly tonight.  Friday morning low temperatures will range from around 20 to 25 degrees.  Temperatures will warm into the mid to upper 40s Friday afternoon, under sunny skies.  Mostly sunny skies continue into Saturday morning, with partly sunny skies into the afternoon.  Saturday will be our "mildest" day of the 7 day forecast, with high temperatures around 50 degrees.  There will be a chance for some rain early Sunday, with high temperatures around 45 degrees.  A cold front will move through on Monday, bringing colder air and the chance for some snow.  Monday high temperatures only reach 34 degrees.  High temperatures will only be in the 30s next week, with another chance for snow around New Year's Day.

We will have milder temperatures for the next two days, before rain chances and much colder temperatures return. Next week will feature below normal temperatures, with the chance for some snow.

TONIGHT: With high pressure over the region, we will continue to have mostly clear skies overnight, with a low temperature of 26 degrees.

FRIDAY: Sunny skies continue for Friday, with light winds and a high of 47 degrees.

SATURDAY: Our warmest day for the next seven days will be on Saturday, with high temperatures around 50 degrees. We will start off Saturday with mostly sunny skies, and have increasing clouds by late in the day. If you’re heading to Rupp Arena for the UK vs. Louisville basketball game at 4pm Saturday, you’ll have temperatures in the upper 40s heading to the game, and in the lower 40s as you leave the game.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Cloudy skies will be over Kentucky as a low pressure system approaches from the southeast. Overnight low temperatures will be around 36 degrees.

SUNDAY: There will be a chance for some rain showers, as a low pressure system moves from the Gulf of Mexico into the Southeast United States, and off the Mid-Atlantic coast. The bulk of the rain looks to be confined to Southeast Kentucky on Sunday, with high temperatures around 45 degrees.

MONDAY: A cold front will move through on Monday, bringing much colder air back into the region, with the chance for some snow showers. Monday high temperatures will only be around 34 degrees.

NEW YEAR’S EVE - TUESDAY: Tuesday will feature morning low temperatures in the mid teens and afternoon high temperatures around 33 degrees, with partly sunny skies.

NEW YEAR’S DAY - WEDNESDAY: Another cold front will approach and move through the region Wednesday through Thursday of next week, with another chance for snow showers. High temperatures will be in the upper 30s on Wednesday and around 30 degrees Thursday.
