Mild Wednesday, With Wintry Precipitation Ahead

Midnight Update:  We will continue to have misty conditions or a light fog overnight, with milder air moving in tonight through Wednesday.  Overnight low temperatures will fall to near 50 degrees, with Wednesday afternoon highs around 66 degrees.  A cold front moves through Thursday morning, with temperatures starting near 60 degrees Thursday morning, and falling into the lower 50s by the afternoon.  Rain showers will develop Thursday and continue through Friday.  Friday will start off as a cold rain, with highs only reaching 38 degrees.  The cold rain early Friday will transition to a wintry mix Friday afternoon, and looks to end as snow Friday night.  We have a brief break in the precipitation during the daylight hours of Saturday, with a high of 33 degrees.  Another weather disturbance will move into the the region for the end of the week, with freezing rain developing Saturday night into Sunday morning. Sunday high temperatures will be around 35 degrees, making for a cold rain.  The cold temperatures continue through next week, with the chance for some snow next Tuesday as well. 
We will have very mild temperatures (for this time of the year) tonight through Wednesday, with arctic air returning for the end of the week through next week. Rainy conditions return for the end of the work week, with the chance for wintry precipitation late Friday, Sunday, and early next week.

TONIGHT: We will continue to have mostly cloudy skies with a mist or light fog overnight. Low temperatures will only fall to 50 degrees, as a warm front lifts through the region.

WEDNESDAY: Our warmest day of the week will be Wednesday, with high temperatures around 66 degrees. Mostly cloudy skies will continue with the chance for a few scattered rain showers. Winds will also be breezy out of the south from 10 to 15 mph, gusting up to 20 mph.

THURSDAY: An arctic cold front will move into the area on Thursday, bringing a good soaking rain to Kentucky. Temperatures will start off near 60 degrees Thursday morning and fall into the lower 50s Thursday afternoon

FRIDAY: We will have a cold rain early, that will transition to snow or a sleet-snow mix Friday afternoon into Friday night. Friday high temperatures will only be 38 degrees. Rain could be heavy at times.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Sleet and snow will be possible Friday night, with a light slushy accumulation possible. Frigid temperatures return, with overnight low temperatures around 24 degrees by early Saturday morning.

SATURDAY: We look to have a break with the precipitation during the daylight hours of Saturday, yet a little wintry mix of snow and rain can’t be ruled out. Saturday will be a cold day with a high of only 33 degrees, under partly to mostly cloudy skies.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Rain will move in from the south, and with freezing temperatures at the surface, we are likely to have freezing rain Saturday night through Sunday morning, with low temperatures around 27 degrees.

SUNDAY: Freezing rain will be around for the morning hours, which may linger through the day. Temperatures are forecasted to get to 35 degrees Sunday afternoon, so a transition from freezing rain to rain is expected at this time. Rain could be heavy at times.

NEXT WEEK: Bitterly cold temperatures will continue for next week, with highs remaining in the 30s. A wintry mix of rain and snow will be possible on Monday with snow possible for Tuesday, mainly east of I-75.
