If you are heading out and about this afternoon, the weather should hold up for your outdoor plans. We're forecasting temperatures to spike to the low 90s with more sunshine than clouds. By late afternoon and into the early evening hours, there is a slight chance we could see a few isolated showers and storms develop, especially south of I-64. The main threat from any of the storms that develop will be brief, but heavy rainfall along with gusty winds and vivid cloud-to-ground lightning. Overnight, we're calling for the numbers to dip into the upper 60s.
For those of you with late week plans, prepare for warm and humid air to linger. Upper 80s and low 90s will be the name of the weather game this weekend with an increase in the chance for showers and thunderstorms.
