Above Normal Temperatures Continue

Midnight Update: Monday afternoon high temperatures reached 85 degrees at the Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, which is 14 degrees above the normal high temperature of 71 degrees.  The last time high temperatures were 85 degrees or warmer, was September 20th, 2013, when the Blue Grass Airport reached a high of 86 degrees.  Skies have remained mostly clear this evening, with mild temperatures ranging from the mid 60s to lower 70s.  Temperatures will continue to fall into the mid to upper 50s through the early morning hours of Tuesday, with a few passing clouds.  Tuesday will feature partly sunny skies with a high of 80 degrees.  Temperatures get back into the mid-80s for Wednesday under mostly sunny skies.  Thursday will stay dry and warm, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 84 degrees.  The chance for rain and thunderstorms return Friday into the weekend, with high temperatures returning to the 70s.

Unseasonably warm temperatures will continue through the work week, with dry conditions. The chance for rain and thunderstorms return Friday into Mother’s Day weekend, with seasonable temperatures returning.

TONIGHT: Skies will be partly cloudy tonight, with a cool overnight low temperature of 55 degrees.

TUESDAY: Temperatures warm quickly into Tuesday afternoon, with partly sunny skies and a high of 80 degrees. There is a slight chance for an isolated rain shower, yet most of us will stay dry.

TUESDAY NIGHT: A few passing clouds will be around for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with overnight low temperatures falling to 59 degrees.

WEDNESDAY: Temperatures become even warmer for Wednesday afternoon, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 85 degrees. We will also have breezy conditions, with southwest winds 10 to 20 mph, with gusts around 25 mph.

THURSDAY: The warm temperatures continue for Thursday, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 84 degrees.

FRIDAY: The chance for rain and thunderstorms return for late Friday, with a high of 79 degrees, with mostly cloudy skies.

WEEKEND: A better chance for rain will return on Saturday, with the chance for rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Saturday afternoon high temperatures will be mild, with a high of 75 degrees. The chance for a few lingering rain showers and thunderstorms will continue for Mother’s Day Sunday, with a high of 77 degrees.
