The Warming Trend Continues

Midnight Update:  A few clouds will move through Kentucky through the early morning hours of your Thursday, with morning low temperatures around 23 degrees.  Thursday will be partly sunny with a high of 45 degrees.  A warming trend continues into the weekend, with temperatures back into the mid-50s for Friday and Saturday.  A cold front will move through Saturday night into Sunday morning, bringing the chance for a few rain showers.  Sunday will be a little cooler, with a high of 45 degrees, with clearing skies into the afternoon.  Temperatures return to the mid 50s on Monday, and we'll be around 60 degrees by next Tuesday!

A gradual warming trend will continue as we approach the weekend, with highs ranging from 45 to 55 degrees on average through next week.

TONIGHT: We will have a few clouds overnight, with low temperatures around 23 degrees by Thursday morning. Winds will be light overnight, out of the northeast from 5 to 10 mph on average.

THURSDAY: Partly cloudy skies will develop for your Thursday afternoon, with high temperatures around 45 degrees.

FRIDAY: Temperatures will be back to more seasonal highs for the end of the week, with a high of 56 degrees Friday afternoon, under partly sunny skies. A weather system will pass to our southeast Friday, yet only a few spotty rain showers will be possible across far Southeastern Kentucky at this time.

WEEKEND: We will have a seasonal high temperature of 54 degrees Saturday afternoon, with increasing clouds through the day. A cold front will approach and move through Kentucky late Saturday into early Sunday, bringing a chance for a few rain showers Saturday evening, with a little wintry mix possible into early Sunday. Sunday morning low temperatures will be around 30 degrees, with a high of 45 degrees Sunday afternoon. Don’t forget to turn your clocks AHEAD one hour Saturday night, as we go back to Daylight Saving Time officially at 2am Sunday, March 9th. Sunset will be closer to 7:39 pm beginning on Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: Seasonal high temperatures will return for early next week, with a high of 55 degrees on Monday, and around 61 degrees on Tuesday. Another cold front will move into the region Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing another chance for rain.
