Afternoon Update:

Clouds are starting to thin out in the Blue Grass meaning more sunshine is in the forecast by later this afternoon.   In our southern and eastern counties, expect more clouds and even a little wintry mix through the course of the day.  Highs, with the sunshine in the Blue Grass, should top out in the mid to upper 30s while eastern KY stays near freezing during the day.

Join Chief Meteorologist Jennifer Schack tonight at 5pm, 6pm & 11pm for more on your weekend warm up!

It's a chilly start this morning with many of us beginning the day below freezing.  By lunch time, we're forecasting 34 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.  South of I-64 & east of I-75, a few snow flurries and light sleet is possible with a more significant threat for winter weather in extreme southeastern Kentucky [Letcher and Pike Counties].  Highs today are expected in the mid to upper 30s with overnight low dropping into the upper teens and low 20s.

Sunshine and mild temps will move into the Blue Grass by Saturday!
