Sunday Morning Weather Update

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for this afternoon, as a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain is occuring across Central and Eastern Kentucky.  Temperatures are in the upper 20s to near 30 degrees in locations along and north of the Bluegrass Parkway and I-64, which has more of a wintry mix this morning.  Southern Kentucky is experiencing more of a cold rain to freezing rain, with temperatures hovering around 32 degrees.  Milder air will move in through the afternoon, which will transition everyone over to more of a cold rain, even though freezing rain could still be occuring north of I-64.  Sunday afternoon high temperatures will only reach 35 degrees.  A cold rain will linger overnight with low temperatures around 32 degrees.  Monday will feature more rain in the morning, with diminishing rain into the afternoon, as high temperatures only reach 34 degrees.  Cold temperatures remain for the rest of the week, with the chance for a little snow on Tuesday, mainly for locations east of I-75.  More sunshine returns for Wednesday and Thursday, with low temperatures in the teens, and highs only in the upper 20s to near 30 degrees.  Another chance for rain and possibly a wintry mix will be next Saturday.
