Midnight Update: Skies have been clearing across Western Kentucky, yet we expect to continue to have mostly cloudy skies through early Thursday. There will also be a chance for some patchy fog or mist as we continue through the early morning hours of Thursday. A cold front will move through Thursday afternoon, bringing in drier air, which will lead to clearing skies by the afternoon and evening hours.
We’ve had cool and cloudy skies today, with temperatures in the lower 70s for highs, with only about a tenth to quarter of an inch of rainfall. Even though weather models showed more significant rainfall for today, most of the rain activity stayed to our south into Tennessee.
Tonight: We will continue to have cloudy skies, with a few isolated rain showers. Patchy fog will also be possible overnight, with an overnight low temperature of 65 degrees.
Thursday: Skies will be cloudy for the morning hours, with the chance for a few isolated rain showers (mainly for Eastern Kentucky). Thursday afternoon will feature clearing skies, with a high of 82 degrees.
Thursday Night: We will have clear skies with a cool overnight low temperature of 62 degrees.
Friday: Mostly sunny to partly sunny skies will be around for Friday, with highs around 84 degrees, as high pressure will be over the region.
Weekend: Another round of rain will be possible for Saturday as a cold front approaches and moves through the area by Saturday night. Right now, the best chance for scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be Saturday afternoon and evening, with a high of 81 degrees. Sunday looks to be partly sunny with a high of 80 degrees.
Next Week: Lower 80s continue next week, with increasing rain chances by midweek next week.
