Early Weekend Update: We will have heavy rain moving through around daybreak Saturday, with rain diminishing from west to east, into Saturday afternoon. Rainfall amounts will be around one inch, with higher amounts possible. Saturday afternoon high temperatures will be around 74 degrees. Skies will clear out Saturday night, with cooler air moving in, and overnight low temperatures around 50 degrees. Sunday is the first official day of the fall season, and it will be a beautiful day with mostly sunny skies and a high of 70 degrees.
A line of rain showers and thunderstorms, associated with a cold front, will move into Central and Eastern Kentucky tonight into Saturday. Cooler temperatures will return for the weekend, with highs in the lower 70s.
TONIGHT: We will have a chance for some isolated rain showers and thunderstorms this evening, yet heavier and steadier rain will move into Central and Eastern Kentucky between midnight Saturday and noon Saturday. Overnight low temperatures will be around 65 degrees.
SATURDAY: We will start off the weekend rainy, especially for Saturday morning. As the cold front moves through Saturday morning, we will have heavy rainfall, yet most of the rain will diminish by the afternoon hours. Cooler air will move in on Saturday, with a high of 74 degrees.
SATURDAY NIGHT: Rain will come to an end late Saturday, with clearing skies Saturday night into Sunday morning. Overnight low temperatures will be around 50 degrees.
SUNDAY: Our first official day of fall is this Sunday, September 22nd, and it will be a beautiful start to the fall season. Sunday will feature mostly sunny skies, a high of 70 degrees, and drier air.
NEXT WEEK: Temperatures will start off in the mid to upper 70s for Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures warming into the lower 80s by next Thursday and Friday. Skies will generally be partly cloudy, with only some isolated rain showers possible Tuesday and next Friday.
