Weather may be to blame for a fire that burned down a home in Harrison County on Thursday morning.

Firefighters responded to a report of a log cabin on fire at around 1 a.m. off Kentucky Highway 32.

The sister of the homeowner spotted the fire from her house down the street and called 911.

She said the home is more than 230-year-old and is a rental but the renters moved out last week and the electricity was shut off.

Firefighters said a lightning strike may have started the fire but they are not sure.

The home burned to the ground.
