A massive fire destroyed a lumberyard in rural Lincoln County overnight.
Emergency crews were called to East Anderson Hardwoods on U.S. 27, in the community of Waynesburg just after three Tuesday morning.
It's been a long morning for fire crews here in Lincoln County as they have spent several hours trying to get this fire under control. They say at this hour, they are unsure exactly what started the fire at this lumber yard.

"I got a call this morning at 3:30 at my home in Danville that there was a fire at the mall. I came down, obviously, I was instantly worried that it could be the production facility and i got it here and it was a warehouse fire, which is not a good thing, but, uh, as far as fire's go, it's the best thing that coulda happened to us," says owner Lowery Anderson
Anderson owns the building and says he doesn't know what sparked the fire and now is trying to figure out what, where to start, picking up the pieces.
"Well, you never want anything that bad to happen, but uh, you know, if you're in business, or anything, bad things are gonna happen. Just gotta learn to deal with it and go on, uh, because you don't have any choice. Uh, we'll make the best of it and uh, continue from here," explains Anderson
Crews they spent all morning trying to get this fire under control and say at this point, they haven't even had time to talk with witnesses, about what they may or may not have seen, when the fire started.
The owner tells ABC 36, he estimates he lost about $600,000 in lumber in this morning's fire.
