A water shortage advisory has been declared by the city of Somerset's water service.

The advisory affects the customers of Somerset Water Service, Science Hill Water, Eubank Water, Southeastern Water Association, and Western Pulaski Water District.

Officials say there is no immediate need to begin voluntary conservation measures. But it is being urged that all non-essential uses of water, such as sprinkling lawns, filling swimming pools, and washing vehicles be minimized.
