Kentucky American Water said some customers are reporting a brown coloring to their water in Owen County.

Officials said this water isn’t threatening to the public’s health and is safe to drink.

They said the reason it’s discolored is because they switched to a back-up water source earlier this week.

Since then, they said they have switched back to a normal source.

Kentucky American Water said it could take awhile for some households to see the water run clear.

If you have concerns about your water, call 1-800-678-6301.
