We have another north-south split this afternoon, when it comes to the weather.  Central and northern parts of the area will be much brighter and warmer than southern Kentucky, with temperatures hovering near 91° in Lexington.  Meanwhile, thermometers across southern and southeastern Kentucky are showing temperatures much closer to 80°.  A few showers and spotty thunderstorms are firing, with the best chance for rain in the southern half of the region.  Lows will be more uniform, with middle 60s tonight.  An area of low pressure will slide northeast along the stationary front in Tennessee, pushing moisture north, across the entire area for Thursday and Friday, into the weekend.  Scattered showers and thunderstorms will provide a good bit of drought relief across the entire area from Thursday through Sunday.  Spotty showers and thunderstorms will remain in the forecast early next week, although they'll cover less ground as clouds slowly depart.  Highs will be in the lower 80s during the end of the week, and then we'll recover into the more seasonable middle and eventually upper 80s early next week.  Highs may peak near 90° on Tuesday of next week.
