A young Lexington girl organized a walk today to help people in need.

Leslie Gammon, 12, said she wanted to do something to give food, clothing and money to people who can’t afford it.

So she organized an event called “Walk for Jesus” at Masterson Station Park.

Gammon said all of the clothes and supplies were donated and then given away for free.

Police, firefighters and other community members were also honored for the work they do in Lexington.

Gammon added that she hopes to make this an annual event.
