Walker Appointed Parks Commissioner

Elaine Walker, Kentucky's current Secretary of State, will serve as commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Parks.
Elaine Walker, Kentucky's current secretary of state, will serve as the commissioner of the state Department of Parks.

Walker was Governor Steve Beshear's appointee to secretary of state in January of 2011, after the resignation of Trey Grayson. Walker was defeated in the May Democratic primary by Alison Grimes Lundergan, who then won the general election in November.

Walker served six years as the mayor of Bowling Green.
