Church Volunteers To Spend Holiday Helping Sandy Victims

About 20 members of the Quest Community Church in Lexington will spend six days in New Jersey helping those effected by Hurricane Sandy
About 20 members of the Quest Community Church in Lexington will be leaving town Friday and traveling to New Jersey to help those effected by Hurricane Sandy.

The group is teaming up with the Princeton Alliance Church in New Jersey, helping those along the coast in any way they can.

Assistant Pastor Justin Mccarty says they had no trouble finding volunteers from the church. In fact, he says they had to turn people away for this trip.

The group is in cooperation with 'Operation Blessing' which is a group of churches from across the country who send volunteers and supplies to areas effected by disasters.

The Church says they will not be accepting any donations to take along on the trip, but says if you would like to help you can make a donation on the 'Operation Blessing' website.
