A local group is helping spay the hundreds of stray cats in and around Lexington

Jackie Briscoe, the Director of 'Spay Your Strays' says they hold a monthly clinic in Georgetown where people can bring in their local feral cats and have them spayed for 15 dollars....a 200 dollar value.

Briscoe says feral cats serve a purpose as pest control, specifically for mice and rats.

She says having the cats spayed not only limits their populations, but also keeps the feral cat colonies from inbreeding.

She says they are looking for volunteers to help their monthly clinics, and donations, either cash or supplies.

You can contact 'Spay Your Stray' either by email: soscatsky@gmail.com

    Or by phone; 859-420-4076

If you would like to send a donation you can mail it to: P.O. Box: 21965 Zip Code:40522
