The Fayette County Coroner's Office has identified the victim of a crash along Briar Hill Road in Lexington.
It said Taylor Ann Davis, 22, of Lexington, was killed Thursday night.
Police said she was driving a pickup when it went off the road and hit a pole.
Officers said Davis was wearing her seatbelt when she was ejected from the truck.
According to investigators, a female passenger had minor injuries and walked to a nearby home to get help.
Investigators said speed was likely a factor in the collision.
Police reminded drivers that there is an added danger when traveling along rural roads like Briar Hill Road.
“All rural roads should take extra care and caution to drive upon," said Lexington Police Lt. Clayton Roberts. “You can drop a tire off, [or] something like that, we obviously encourage everybody driving on rural roads to use caution.”
The roadway was reopened around 3:15 Friday morning.
