Very Mild Afternoon & Night Before Rain Arrives

After a very mild afternoon and night, look for widespread rain to return to the area tomorrow morning, then it will turn colder.
Earlier this morning, some scattered showers dampened areas near and especially north of I-64.  Now, the warm front has lifted north into Ohio, and most of us will be dry as breezes from the south boost temperatures into the lower 60s.  It will be very breezy with winds occasionally gusting over 25 mph.  Widespread, soaking rain will arrive around or shortly before dawn (in Lexington) tomorrow, and everyone will receive rain during the day on Thursday.  1/2" to 1" of rain is likely across the area.  A second wave of low pressure will produce more rain in southern Kentucky on Friday, but the northern half of the area should stay dry as the week ends.  Highs from Friday through Monday will be in the 40s.  After a bright, dry weekend, rain will return to the forecast as temperatures slowly climb early next week.
