It may soon be harder to get between Fayette, Madison and Jessamine Counties.

The Valley View Ferry is cutting it's weekend service and reducing hours during the work week.

And it's not because of money.

The Valley View Ferry Authority says one of it's two ferry captains is leaving and it doesn't have a local, qualified candidate to hire.

The Authority says it moves 350 vehicles a day over the Kentucky River.

The changes will start June 29th.
