Update: Woman Injured In Knife Attack In Kroger Improving

A 77-year old Lexington woman continues to improve in the hospital, two weeks after her throat was slashed by a knife-wielding attacker while she grocery shopped.
It has been two weeks since someone slashed a 77-year old Lexington woman's throat while she grocery shopped in a Kroger at the corner of West Lowry Lane and Nicholasville Road in Lexington.

Lexington Police call the attack a random act of violence.

ABC 36 News talked to Sara Gretz's husband today and he said his wife is now out of intensive care and is making daily improvement, but still can't speak due to the injury to her neck.

He said she may be able to come home this weekend.

Lexington Police arrested and charged Corey Cummins in the case.

Investigators said he admitted to the attack.

A psychological evaluation was ordered for Cummins.
