According to the Fayette County Coroner's Office, Allen Smith, 23, died Tuesday after being shot near UK's campus Sunday.

Lexington Police said they arrested Dynell Stewart, 21, for the shooting on Monday. He is charged with assault and wanton endangerment. He may now face additional charges.

Police said Stewart fired shots at a car on Bolivar Street, near the Tally Ho restaurant Sunday morning. Bullets hit the driver and a passenger in the car. A third passenger was not hurt. Police say the men drove themselves to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

An autopsy is scheduled to be done on Smith.
