Test results are in on suspicious packages discovered at a federal facility in Whitley County Tuesday.

The Kentucky Consular Center off I-75 was closed Tuesday when two suspicious packages were discovered.

Three people in the mail room were decontaminated as a precaution.

Chief Wayne Bird of the Williamsburg Police Department tells ABC 36 News that the state has run severeal tests on the substances inside the packages, and every test for harmful substances has come up negative.

Bird says a few more tests still have to be conducted, but it appears it was a scare and nothing serious. He added that these types of concerns arise around the holidays.

The building is closed for the July 4th holiday, but there are some employees in the building and business will run as usual today. The FBI is investigating where the packages came from.
