Update: Second Person Dies From Collision On Bluegrass Parkway

State Police said a second person died Friday night following a collision on the Bluegrass Parkway in Anderson County.

Investigators said one person died at the scene, while another, who was airlifted to UK Hospital in Lexington, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

State Police said shortly before 6:00 p.m., a 2010 Nissan Pickup, with four people inside, slammed into the back of a parked 2012 Freightliner Tractor Trailer that was stopped on the shoulder of the westbound lane near mile marker 52.

One of the people in the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene, according to investigators. 

Another person in the pickup was airlifted to UK Hospital in Lexington where they died shortly after arriving, according to State Police.

Investigators said the other two people in the pickup and the semi driver were taken by ambulance to UK Hospital.

No names were released.

The State Police Post 12 Accident Reconstruction Team was leading the investigation.
