Update: Second Child Dies In Cynthiana House Fire

A second child has died from injuries suffered in a house fire in Cynthiana on Wednesday.

The Fayette County Coroner's Office said Rachel Chesnut, 4, died of smoke inhalation.  She was transferred from the hospital in Cynthiana to U.K. Hospital on Wednesday where she had been listed in critical condition.

Rachel's five year old sister, Jacqueline Chesnut, died from her injuries on Wednesday.

The girls' father, Terry Chesnut, remains in critical condition at U.K. Hospital.

The fire broke out the home on Oddville Road around noon Wednesday.

The cause is under investigation.

I am the mother-in-law of one of the daughters, and would like to say thank you for the prayers. It is nice to know there are good people out there to help the family in their time of need.
