Update: Second Blackburn Escapee Recaptured

The second of two weekend escapees from Blackburn prison in Lexington was recaptured Monday morning in Garrard County, according to the Garrard County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said Tyler Roberts, 21, was caught just before 11:00 a.m.

Christopher Melton, 22, was recaptured on Sunday, also in Garrard County, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said the two escapees are believed to have been involved in an attempted home invasion on Saturday.

Authorities said Roberts and Melton escaped from prison in Lexington on Saturday.

Investigators said Melton was serving six years for theft and fleeing police.  Roberts was serving 10-years for burglary, theft, arson and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
