The Scott County Coroner on Monday identified the man whose body was found in Elkhorn Creek last week as Jorge "George" Flores, 29, of Mexico.
Coroner John Goble said Flores lived on Owenton Road in Frankfort.
Coroner Goble said that Flores' body will eventually be returned to Mexico.
The death has been ruled a homicide.
Investigators said Flores' blue 2002 Chevy Avalanche pickup is missing and is considered stolen.
Investigators said the pickup has a Kentucky license plate, 214 NAY. Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to call police immediately.
