State police have obtained an arrest warrant for a man accused of shooting a Sandy Hook resident during a New Year's Eve party.

Troopers were called early Wednesday to a home on Dehart Road in Elliot County.

Investigators said 58-year-old Galen Conley shot 22-year-old William Reed in the shoulder during an argument.

Troopers said Reed was taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital in West Virginia and was treated and released.

Conley has since been arrested and charged with assault, wanton endangerment and terroristic threatening.

He has been lodged in the Big Sandy Detention Center.
