Update: Rescue Animals At Franklin County Humane Society Getting Much Needed Attention

The Franklin County Humane Society has been overwhelmed with animals after a Frankfort couple was arrested and charged with 23 counts of animal abuse.
Workers at the Franklin County Humane Society in Frankfort have been working around the clock with the influx of animals after a couple was arrested and charged with 23 counts of animal abuse.
Teresa Masters, an employee and volunteer at the humane society, tells ABC36 that all of the animals have some basic issues with skin conditions but some of them need more serious medical attention.
If and when the animal abuse case is close, the animals will still need to be medically released as well.
Masters also says they are great dogs, "Once removed from that situation, their attitude changes, they become who they are probably meant to be."

Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton tells us that as of Wednesday, all of the animals have been removed and they have met with the health department about condemning the accused couple's house.
