Update: Police: Suspect Admits to Hitting, Stabbing Man

A man admits to running over a man with a car, punching him in the face and then stabbing him, police say.

Police say a suspect admitted to hitting another man with a car and then stabbing him.

Lexington Police said the argument between two men began inside an apartment complex in the 800 block of Winter Garden Sunday night.

Darius Brown, 26, is charged with 1st Degree Assault and Tampering with Evidence.

According to police, Brown told police he and the victim got into a fight then got into his car and ran over the victim.

Court documents said that Brown admitted he then got out of the car, started punching the victim in the face then grabbed the pocketknife the victim was holding and stabbed him three times with it.

Police said Brown threw the pocketknife in a dumpster.
 
The victim suffered serious injuries in the attack and was rushed to the University of Kentucky hospital. The victim remains listed in serious condition.

Brown is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday
