Update: Police Still Investigating Attempted Abduction

Georgetown Police say they're still going to search for a suspect in an attempted abduction, despite inconsistencies in the story of the incident.
Police in Georgetown say a fifth grader claims she was almost abducted at a bus stop, but now police are wondering if it actually happened.

Georgetown police say the stories they're hearing of what happened are  inconsistent and so far have very few details.

Georgetown police say they were originally told that the girl went to the bus stop near the entrance into the Georgetown terrace apartments.

Police say that's when the girl was approached by a man driving some type of 4-door maroon car.

No other description of the car or driver was given.

Police say the girl immediately ran from the car and hid out at a neighbor's until police came.

Later this afternoon, police told ABC 36 that the story kept changing, the more they heard it.

They say they are still looking for that car. and add this is a good reminder to parents to make sure kids are not left unattended at bus stops.

The family of the little girl could not be reached for this story.

If you have any information, call the Georgetown Police Department.
