Police say a fire that gutted six apartment units appears to have been set by children.

Frankfort police say they've found evidence that indicates the fire on Harrodsburg Lane Tuesday was set by two elementary school children.

Officers add the kids were playing at the time.

The fire caused two firemen to go to the hospital for smoke and heat treatment.

A tenant was also hurt--injuring their hand while breaking out a window in an effort to escape the flames.

The investigation is continuing.
