Update: Pine Knot Man Goes From Hospital To Jail

State Police said Norman Waters, 71, of Pine Knot, is in jail after being released from the hospital. Investigators said he was shot after breaking into a home and assaulting at least four people.
State Police said a Pine Knot man went from the hospital to jail after being shot during a violent home invasion on Osborne Creek Road in McCreary County.

Investigators said on Friday, June 22, 2012, Norman Waters, 71, of Pine Knot, broke-in to the home of Crystal Redden, 35, of Strunk and assaulted her and Brian Spradlin, 44, of Revlo.

State Police said Waters went outside, got a handgun from his car and went back into the house where he assaulted two women before going into a room where Redden and Spradlin were located.

Investigators said Redden shot Waters once in the torso.

Waters was airlifted to U.K. Hospital.

On Sunday, Waters was served an arrest warrant and was taken to the McCreary County Jail.

State Police said Waters was charged with One Count of Burglary 1st, Three Counts of Assault 2nd, One Count of Assault 4th and One Count of Wanton Endangerment 1st.
