Students in the Paris Independent School System get the day off school on Friday. The superintendent said they are closing because of illness.

40 students were sent home from Paris Elementary School on Thursday because they were sick with a virus.

The Bourbon County Health Department said the sickness is normal for this time of year.

School staffs said they plan to sanitize the school on Friday.

As of now, the school should be open again on Monday.
