Update: New Information Into Why Judge Recused Himself In Michael Porter Case

Court documents provide new insight into why a Lexington judge recused himself on the day former UK basketball player Michael Porter was to be sentenced in a sex abuse case.
ABC 36 has learned why the judge in the sentencing of former UK point guard Michael Porter recused himself.

Court documents show Judge James Ishamel was asked to be taken off the case because the defense was worried there would be "difficulties."

According to court documents, Judge Ishmael was given a letter of support for Porter from a personal acquaintance.

Judge Ernesto Scorsone was assigned to the case later that day.

There's no word yet on when Porter will be sentenced.
