Lexington Police say a scooter driver underwent surgery Tuesday for head injuries after a collision.

A spokeswoman for U.K. Hospital said Dorian Webb of Lexington was in serious condition Tuesday evening.

Investigators said Webb was on a scooter when he drove into the back of a UPS delivery truck on North Broadway at North Broadway Park.

The intersection was temporarily shut down after the collision, which happened just before 4:30pm.

Police said the UPS truck was stopped and waiting to turn left when the collision happened.

They said Webb was not wearing a helmet and suffered significant head injuries.

The UPS driver wasn't hurt.
