Police say it was at a home on Terri Lane in Lawrenceburg, where a 3-year-old girl was tied up for nearly 16 hours a day.

One of the accused is the little girl’s grandmother, Carolyn Case, 64.

Case’s neighbor says she doesn’t believe it.

“I've always know Ms. Case to be a nice person, caring, helped others, helped the neighbors,” the neighbor said.

She added, “It's been several years since I've talked to Ms. Case. So I know she's had some hard times in the past. Nothing like this.”

In a police report, it says the girl was tied to the bed with a green curtain sash and large horse collar safety pin. This sash was also how she was tied to a chair for discipline.

People coming and going from the house on Terri Lane refused interviews today.

The little girl’s mother, Rebecca Leah Medley, 30, and her step-father, Herbert Charles Medley, 53, were listed under a different address.

One of their neighbors, Chris Thompson, says they’ve been in the process of moving out for about 3 weeks.

Thompson added that he really didn’t talk to the family much.

“I did work with the gentleman that has the accusations against him,” Thompson said. “I never thought that he would do something like that - and you're innocent until proven guilty.”
