State Police made an arrest Wednesday in connection to the murder of a Lee County woman earlier this month.

Investigators said Melvin G. Slone, 55, of Beattyville, was charged with murder in connection to the death of Martha Belle Hollar, 79, of Beattyville.

State Police said Hollar was found dead following a fire in her home on Main Street in Beattyville on April 11, 2014.

An autopsy performed the next day showed that Hollar was dead before the fire began, according to the State Medical Examiner's Office.

On April 23, investigators said that their preliminary investigation indicated that Hollar was shot to death prior to her home catching on fire.

There was no mention of a possible motive.

Slone was lodged in the Three Fork's Regional Jail.
