State Police said Monday that the man accused of gunning down Marion County Sheriff's Deputy Anthony Rakes, was released from a hospital in Louisville.
Investigators said Dewayne Shipp was hospitalized after shooting himself in the leg the day he was accused of killing Deputy Rakes.
State Police said Shipp was taken from the hospital to the Kentucky State Reformatory in La Grange because of the medical facilities there.
