Update: Letter Sent To Parents About Fayette Administrators' Resignation

The academic dean and principal of Cardinal Valley Elementary in Lexington resigned amid allegations of misconduct Friday.
Fayette County Public Schools lost both a dean and the school principal from Cardinal Valley Elementary Friday.

Former Principal Ivonne Beegle and Academic Dean Suzanne Ray resigned amid allegations of misconduct.

The Fayette school system would not give any details, except to say that what's being investigated does not involve students, finances, or test scores.

Beegle was Cardinal Valley's principal for five years. For now, retired former-principal Barbara Albaugh is filling in.

But the superintendent said in a letter to parents that he'll meet with the School-Based Decision Making Council to discuss hiring someone new.

It also said, "Your input will play an important role in helping us select our next principal."

The Fayette School System says it submitted a report to the Kentucky Educational Standards Board, as required by law.

It's unclear yet what that might mean for Beegle and Ray.
