Update: Guardsman Charged In Death Of Two KY Guardsmen

A Kentucky National Guardsman is now charged in a deadly car wreck that killed 2 fellow Guardsmen.
A National Guardsman is now charged in a deadly car wreck that killed 2 Kentucky Guardsmen.

WDAZ in Grand Fork, North Dakota confirms that Kentucky Guardsman Christopher Brandt was arrested around 4:00pm today.

The Kentucky National Guard says the 2 victims killed overnight Wednesday were 31-year-old Sgt. Ronald Forsyth and 23-year-old Specialist Jason Burnette.

The accident happened in Devil's Lake where the men were on a 2-week training mission.

WDAZ reports that the vehicle hopped a curb and slammed into a tree before rolling onto its side.

Brandt and a second Kentucky Guardsman were also in the car when the wreck happened.

WDAZ says Forsyth and Burnette were dead by the time police got to the scene.

Public Affairs Officer Lt. Col. Kirk Hilbrecht says Forsyth is from Ryland Heights, Kentucky.

He also confirms Burnett lived in Manchester, Kentucky.

Brandt is charged with 2 counts of manslaughter and 1 count of reckless endangerment.
