Parts of Frankfort went dark again Saturday night as crews worked on repairing the transformer.
The Frankfort Plant Board says a transformer had an electrical short and caught fire around 4:00 Tuesday afternoon. It knocked out power to about 3,000 meters.
Vent Foster, assistant general manager for Frankfort Plant Board, says some people were without power for 30 minutes Saturday night but others didn’t have power for two hours.
Foster says when crews are working on repairs, more issues are likely. He says all power has been restored and he doesn't expect any more issues.
Crews still aren’t sure why the transformer failed Tuesday night. They are hoping to have more answers next week.
