Update: Four Thousand Blankets Donated to Lexington

A Virginia-based non-profit group 'Gleaning for the World' delivered four thousand blankets on Monday to be distributed to those in need in Lexington.
The Godsnet Warehouse on Seventh Street in Lexington almost ran out of room Monday, which was a good problem to have.

The Virginia-based non-profit organization 'Gleaning for the World' dropped off a semi-truckload full of blankets to the warehouse.

The 4,000 blankets were distributed to homeless shelters, The Salvation Army and other non-profit organizations in Lexington.

The Office of Fayette County Sheriff also helped, first helping unload the semi and then going door-to-door in the community delivering blankets and other warm clothing to those in need.

Ginny Ramsay, with the Catholic Action Center, said they recieved a call from 'Gleaning for the World' last Saturday asking if Lexington could use an extra 4,000 blankets.

Ramsay said the non-profit even drove the blankets from Lynchburg, Virginia to Lexington, free of charge.
