Update: Former Corrections Officer Pleads Not Guilty

The former corrections officer at Blackburn Correctional Facility in Lexington plead not guilty to charges of official misconduct and third degree rape.

Jennifer Wiseman, 37, is accused of having sexual relations with an inmate.

According to court documents, Wiseman began a sexual relationship with an inmate at Blackburn back in July.
 
Another inmate told jail officials that Wiseman would take the inmate, Jason Adams, into the women's bathroom, causing jail officials to open an internal investigation.
 
During that investigation, court documents said officials began listening to recorded phone calls made by Adams. They said Adams made several calls to numbers traced to Wiseman, including one belonging to the cell phone of her 10-year-old daughter. Court documents reveal that many of the phone conversations were sexually explicit.
 
Documents also said the two discussed the shift her husband worked. He is employed at the Fayette County Detention Center.
 
Investigators said letters signed by "Angel" that were sexually explicit in nature were found in Adams' cell. The documents said, in one phone conversation, Adams advised Wiseman to put his sister's return mailing address on the letters. His sister's name is "Angel.

Wiseman declined to comment before her arraignment Monday.

Adams is serving a 14-year sentence on drug and burglary related charges.

He has been transferred to a prison in Oldham County.
