A fire that broke out on Water Plant Road in McCreary County in August and caused the death of a local firefighter has been ruled as arson, according to investigators.
A fire that broke out on Water Plant Road in McCreary County in August and caused the death of a local firefighter has been ruled as arson, according to investigators.

State Police said 37-year-old Lieutenant Arlie "Pooh" Hill III, of Stearns, was severely injured after going into a burning home to see if anyone was inside.

He died two months later from his injuries.

An arson investigation is underway. Anyone with any information about the August fire should contact Kentucky State Police.
