Police say a Fayette County inmate who escaped from corrections officers is now back in custody.

Investigators say Mustafa Qasem was returned to Fayette County Detention Center Thursday evening.

The jail says Qasem escaped from a vehicle back on September 5th in Lexington as corrections officers were taking him to the detention center.

Authorities say it happened after Qasem was picked up at his house for violating the conditions of his home incarceration.
